Biology is fast moving from being a descriptive field to an exact science, a transition that will increasingly require input from all branches of Life Sciences. Department of Biosciences, CIIT Sahiwal offers Master of Science in Biosciences (MSBS) designed to produce versatile graduates prepared for a wide range of positions in the rapidly developing biosciences fields or for entry into Post graduate or professional programs in the life and health sciences. This program combines a strong foundation in the biological sciences with some Technical electives that enable the student to acquire advanced preparation in applications of bioscience and can acquire an excellent ability to publish and disseminate their research work among the scientific community.
The faculty of MSBS has a doctoral degree qualification and committed for supporting student’s learning in the classroom & laboratory, and fostering student scholarly activity.
Research in the Department represents the breadth of the Biological Sciences, including work in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology & Immunology and Molecular Virology.
MSBS students receive a high degree of real world experience and may specialize in one of the following fields:
1. Biochemistry & Molecular Biology
2. Molecular Virology
3. Microbiology & Immunology

Bachelor of Science in Bio Infomatics BS(BI)
Bioinformatics is conceptualizing biology in terms of molecules and applying informatics techniques that are derived from disciplines such as applied mathematics, computer science and statistics to understand and organize the information associated with these molecules, on a large scale. The field of Bioinformatics is making critical contributions to diverse areas such as disease detection, drug design, forensics, agriculture and environmental sciences through the combination of biological analysis & high-performance computing.
